Free summer program for kids via Zoom!

Science in the Summer 2020: Welcome

GSK Science in the Summer is always a much anticipated event for our library users entering grades 2-6.  We're still able to offer a version this year with free, virtual lessons and hands-on activities via a chemistry experiment kit to use at home and keep!  

The virtual format will assign families to teams. Each team will be assigned a self-led experiment to complete.  Teams will meet on Monday, 8/3 to ask and answer questions regarding their experiment.  meetings  again on either Tuesday or Wednesday for a virtual lesson, activities, and discussion.  Thursday families have a choice of 2 sessions during which they will participate in an exciting chemistry demonstration and have a live Q&A with a local scientist.


Please register for the team whose times best fit your family's schedule:

Team 1:

Monday, 8/3 1pm-2pm

Tuesday, 8/4 1pm-1:30pm 

Thursday, 8/6 1pm-2pm OR 6pm-7pm

Team 2:

Monday, 8/3 6pm-7pm

Tuesday, 8/4 6pm-6:30pm

Thursday, 8/6 1pm-2pm OR 6pm-7pm

Team 3: 

Monday, 8/3 1pm-2pm

Wednesday, 8/5 1pm-1:30pm

Thursday, 8/6 1pm-2pm OR 6pm-7pm

Team 4:

Monday, 8/3 6pm-7pm

Wednesday, 8/5 6m-6:30pm

Thursday, 8/6 1pm-2pm OR 6pm-7pm

Space is limited to 20 participating families.
